Here are some tips that may help you when you next exhibit at Manchester Central.

Once you have chosen your stand designer and contractor you will need to decide if you are going to set the display stand up yourself or if you want it to be installed.  Many stand suppliers are able to offer a cost-effective, portable display that can easily be set up to avoid extra labour costs.  However, if you have a large space or you are short on time you may want to consider asking your supplier for stand installation.

Getting to Manchester Central

Manchester Central is located right in the heart of the city and can be easily accessed which makes it an easy destination to get to for both national and international visitors, it does get busy so allow plenty of time for your journey.

Whether you are traveling by road, rail or air, there are superb transport links.

By Road

Manchester is at the heart of a comprehensive motorway network. Manchester’s M60 orbital motorway provides easy access from north, south, east and west.

If using a satellite navigation system – please follow the postcode M2 3GX.

M6 (from south – Stoke-on-Trent, Birmingham)
Leave the M6 at junction 19, just after Knutsford Services. Follow the A556 towards Altrincham and pick up the M56 towards Manchester Airport. Follow the motorway onto the A5103 (Princess Parkway), then follow signs for Manchester Central, Petersfield.

M6 (from north – Preston, Blackpool, Carlisle)
Leave the M6 at junction 21a for the M62 towards Manchester. At junction 12, join the M602 and continue to the end of the motorway (Regent Road Roundabout, Salford). Follow signs to the city centre along Regent Road, and then to Manchester Central, Petersfield.

M62 (from west – Liverpool)
At M62 junction 12, join the M602 and continue to the end of the motorway (Regent Road Roundabout, Salford). Follow signs to the city centre along Regent Road, and then to Manchester Central, Petersfield.

At M62 junction 18, join the M60 west-bound. Take junction 17 onto the A56 (Bury New Road) and follow signs to the city centre, and then to Manchester Central, Petersfield.

M56 (from west – North Wales, Chester, Ellesmere Port)
Follow the M56 past Manchester Airport. Continue onto the A5103 (Princess Parkway), then follow signs for Manchester Central, Petersfield.

There are 643 spaces and 15 disabled bays.  Spaces are pre-bookable.

By Air

If you are travelling from overseas or taking one of the many domestic flights that fly into Birmingham, there is a transfer available to the NEC. The rail link at Terminal 1 of Birmingham International Airport provides shuttle trains to the NEC every two minutes, and the journey takes just ninety seconds – it couldn’t be much easier!

By Rail

It takes a little over two hours to reach Manchester from London and Manchester also has direct connections to most major UK cities. Services arrive at Piccadilly or Victoria stations where passengers can connect with Metrolink trams for easy access to the city centre. Manchester Central is a 20 minute walk from Piccadilly Station or just five minutes by taxi. Alternatively, catch a connecting train to Oxford Road Station – just five minutes from Manchester Central on foot.

Free Bus

When you arrive in Manchester there is a free bus called the Metroshuttle that links the city centre’s main rail stations, shopping areas and businesses.  Click here for more information on routes.

Tram

Manchester tram system Metrolink’s nearest stop to Manchester Central is St Peters Square, just a few minutes from the venue.  Metro Link runs every few minutes from early morning in to the evening.  Routes and further information can be found here.

Taxi

There is a dedicated taxi rank at the front of Manchester Central for pick up and drop offs.  Black Taxi’s are readily available at Manchester Airport and both Piccadilly and Victoria Train stations.
